The One Picture Book, 1 Lexington initiative is a shared reading experience where children across our community are invited to read the same book and participate in themed events and activities.

Kicking off in March 2024, in celebration of Early Literacy Month, the first One Picture Book, 1 Lexington book is Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, written and illustrated by Mo Willems.

Each Lexington childcare center along with all students in Fayette County Public Schools’ Preschool Program will receive a copy of the book, and additional copies are available for pick up at the Lexington Children’s Theatre and Lexington Public Library locations.
